Testimonials

A.N. McSheffrey Woodworks is an absolute pleasure to work with. As both a designer and client, I can speak to the thoughtfulness and skill Andrew has brought to all of the projects he has taken on for us.

As a designer, Andrew complements and makes our visions stronger. He is a fantastic source of knowledge and helps identify and propose solutions to tricky details, material issues, fabrication sequencing and any number of concerns that arise in translating design through fabrication to reality. It is especially gratifying to witness our visions realized and made better through the talent and skill Andrew brings to the table.

As an owner of many A. N. McSheffrey pieces, I can attest to the pleasure it brings to use his furniture. The thoughtfully constructed, beautiful pieces with precise hand cut joinery and well selected materials exceeded my expectations and are a source of great pleasure to use.

Andrew is fully committed to excellence in the art of his craft, is thoughtful with role in collaboration and is extremely personable and easy to work with. I cannot more strongly recommend A.N. McSheffrey Woodworks to anyone considering taking on an interesting furniture / fabrication project.

Andy is an extremely talented craftsman in both his furniture and contracting work. He also happens to have great client relation skills. He is very precise, thorough, creative and resourceful in his problem solving. His attention to detail is fabulous. He also works very well with clients - he listens, is patient, has a positive disposition and is a pleasure to work with. The renovation Andy did for us in 2011 – the transforming of a very basic structure into a well-insulated cozy Scandinavian inspired cottage – was an absolute success. I will HIGHLY recommend Andy always. Now we just need to have him do some gorgeous furniture for the interiors!

We hired Andy to completely renovate the only bathroom we had in our old house, a small 1920's-vintage home. Not only did he make the renovation happen as quickly as possible, he made sure it was exactly on schedule and that every detail was completed perfectly (he was able to finish it within weeks, just in time for family to visit for the holidays!). His attention to detail is amazing - you really feel like he will not rest until everything is just right - and his professionalism makes you feel confident & at-ease during a time that can be very stressful. He understood our vision completely and, when needed, guided us gently to making the best decisions for our home. We have since sold that house and believe that without that gorgeous bathroom it would not have sold in only three weeks.

We are now in a new house and have already had Andy come and make some changes, which he has done beautifully. We could not recommend him more or say enough about his workmanship, whether it's to make a piece of furniture to your exact specifications or change some details in the woodwork in your home, to completely renovating a space in your house. Thank you, Andy!

Dear Andy,

I wanted to follow up with you on the two projects we worked together on this past summer. Thank you does not express my appreciation for the professionalism and quality of workmanship you exhibited and delivered at all times while working on our roof and restoration project at 73 Warren and with my parent’s bathroom renovation at The Seasons in New London. Your resourcefulness, willingness to offer simpler and more cost effective solutions was/is greatly appreciated. You researched and presented alternatives, were not averse to working with a difficult roofing contractor and eventually got him to agree to find and repair an issue he insisted was not covered under his scope of work. You were direct and professional when dealing with him and got the desired results. The highly ornate construction and fabrication of deteriorated Victorian building trim details were very well executed. The new screen doors on the South side are beautifully crafted. You always kept us informed of your observations and concerns. You guided us in the correct selection of materials and without fail you delivered when you said you would.

In regards to my parent’s master bathroom renovation. Wow!!! When I describe the project and the amount of work accomplished in 10 days while my mother was hospitalized, people are amazed. Demolishing an existing tile shower/tub enclosure, plumbing and configuring an entirely new tiled walk -in double shower, along with ADA toilets, grab bars etc. and making it look attractive for future resale is amazing. The worksite was cleaned daily, the briefing at the end of each day’s work made my job of managing the project from afar so much simpler and my 83 year old Dad, a retired business owner and engineer, was equally amazed at your professionalism and tactfulness and consideration as he lived in the house recuperating from back surgery while this entire project took place.

You are a pleasure to work with and I look forward to a more interesting project the next time.
